Mr Vusi Ngubeni's story:

Vusi Ngubeni has Eternal Connectedness (Life) because God had placed, at the beginning of 2003, an intense desire in his heart to understand and know God better. One Monday morning he communicated that he needed to read the Bible urgently. He had made a new years resolution to stop smoking but also to read and study the Bible…

The Spiritual Wellness Staff secured 30 Leadership Bibles and has been handing them out to prominent leaders in major companies. Vusi’s request was honored and Fred gave him a copy on Thursday, 27 March 2003.The most amazing thing is that God Himself places this yearning in us. By Monday morning when we met Vusi again he literally came waltzing into the building, waving his Bible around and said that he had now finished reading the whole of Genesis and that he can’t stop reading his Bible and is moving into the book of Exodus…

The next time Fred met with him, he said that he was really enjoying the Bible and that for the first time in his life, although he grew up in the house of a minister, he understood Gods word more clearly…

Five Weeks had passed and it was Monday morning the 5th of May at 11:15 that he mentioned he had just finished the book of Leviticus and that all the Jewish Laws confuses him and that he wanted to know what should he do and what he should not do in order to please God, like eating pork or not. Fred explained that throughout Scripture, from the Old testament to the New, man throughout the centuries could not keep Gods law, quoting examples like David who had failed God in many ways, but that forgiveness for our wrong doing, whichever that may be, is a free gift from God as seen in the new Testament.

The most wonderful conversation then transpired as Eddie took out a summary of the Good News, as seen throughout the New Testament, and that being four little principles.

Principle 1:  That God loves Vusi and has a wonderful plan for his life.

Principle 2:  That all people of the world are sinful and separated from God and cannot please God in any way, like going to church, living a good life or being a nice person.

Principle 3:  Explained that Jesus’ sacrificial death on the cross is Gods only provision for our sinfulness.

As Eddie continued, we noticed that Vusi was ready to connect his life completely, once and for all, to follow God and he was asked if he would like to pray a prayer.  The following prayer was prayed deeply and sincerely with an honest, open heart and great humility by Vusi: "Dear Jesus I want to know you personally. Thank you for dying on the cross for my sins.  Please forgive all my sins and give me eternal life.  I open the door of my life and receive you as my savior and Lord. Take control of the throne of my life and make me the kind of person you want me to be."…

The evening of 9 May 2003, on his way home from friends, Vusi was in a fatal motor car accident and went to be with God. We are reliably told that one of Vusi's last words earlier on that fateful Friday evening he passed away was:

How about you?
